Education

education

As parents, we care about our children’s education. We want to do whatever we can to prepare them for life ahead and to help them succeed. We want them to enjoy learning and the time they spend at school. What are some Bible verses about education?

We also want to teach them how to think discerningly about the values and ideologies around them. We do not want them to be conformed to this world, but to be transformed by the renewing of their minds.

As you send your children back to school, here are some passages from Scripture to guide your prayers for their education. Here are a few Bible verses about education.

Instill in my children a desire to learn. Help them to grow in both knowledge and wisdom.

Proverbs 16:16 NIV

How much better to get wisdom than gold,

to get insight rather than silver!

Get all the advice and instruction you can,
so you will be wise the rest of your life.

guard it well, for it is your life.

but fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Help them to remember the lessons and values I have sought to instill in them.

and do not forsake your mother’s teaching.

They are a garland to grace your head

and a chain to adorn your neck.

My son, do not forget my teaching,

but keep my commands in your heart,

Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it.

May you develop in them perseverance and maturity through the challenges they face.

1 John 4:1 NIV

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world.

Colossians 2:8 NLT

Don’t let anyone capture you with empty philosophies and high-sounding nonsense that come from human thinking and from the spiritual powers of this world, rather than from Christ.
