FROM THE DESK OF JOHN
I pray this will be a very joyful Christmas for you and your loved ones. My family and our staff are praying that it will be.
At the same time, I know some of you are facing very tough times. The last two Christmases I lost four of my best friends. At their funerals I thought of all the great memories we had together, but now they’re gone. Yet I knew they were Christians, so I look forward to seeing them again in heaven. I am thankful we as Christians have that hope. I look forward to seeing them and Jesus in heaven.
In spiritual terms, whether we are sick or healthy, poor or blessed, at this time of year we need to take a moment and thank God that He sent His Son into the world. He did so for many reasons, but mostly because God loves people and wants them to freely choose to spend eternity in heaven with Him.
When I learned that God had given us the opportunity to place our faith in Jesus, I accepted Jesus as my Savior. I wanted to know for sure that when I died, I would go to heaven. The longer I live, the more I know God’s gifts are the greatest Christmas gifts anybody has ever given to me—to all of us.
In this captivating four-program series, Lee Strobel delves into questions that have long been debated. Was Jesus really born in Bethlehem? Was He truly born of a virgin? And what about the innkeeper, the stable, and the manger? How much of the beloved Christmas story was inspired by Greek and Roman mythology? Moreover, can we confidently trust the accuracy of the Gospels in presenting us with the true account of Jesus?
