The Facts on the False Views of Jesus (Harvest House, 1997) p. 10-11
What did the Jesus Seminar conclude about Jesus and His teachings?
…in the words of the Seminar, fully “eighty-two percent of the words ascribed to Jesus in the gospels were not actually spoken by him.” (Five Gospels, p. 5)
In other words, Jesus never really believed He would die for the world’s sins despite His clear statements: “The Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many” (Matthew 20:28).…
In addition, according to liberal theology, Jesus never really claimed to be God, despite statements like the following, “Before Abraham was born, I am” (John 8:58)….
Jesus was not virgin born despite Matthew 1:22,23….
And of course, they deny that Jesus performed miracles….
Finally, the Jesus Seminar asks us to believe that Jesus never called for anyone to repent of his or her sins. And Jesus never rose from the dead, despite the unanimous testimony of all four Gospels and the verdict of history.
