I’m looking for prayers for my brother in law and wisdom. I found out he is a strong Amillennialist and covenant theologian as we next our eschatology class at church.

We were excited from our eschatology class as we shared it with relatives before service started, but his demeanor changed to extreme anger, especially towards Jews. I shared that understanding of eschatology gives us hope and gives us a reason to live more eternal minded

and less earthly minded. He said I disagree and I am against the futurist view on end times based off of all the teachers and podcasts I have heard.

I said I hope we can have a kind and respectful conversation on this someday. After sharing verses on why Jesus spoke of a literal future kingdom on earth, tribulation, rapture, second coming & that the nation of Israel are important in prophecy. I wanted to share more verses with him after going through Zechariah, Mathew, Luke, Daniel and revelation. His anger, bitterness and coldness came out like a viper. He said we don’t need to know this, all views are wrong. Eventually we will all keep changing our minds.

How can I point a family member to verses lovingly? Have you encountered this with family? If so, what helped since it left things unresolved.

I just said debate and anger towards a brother in Christ is not what the Lord wants. We are to speaking in loving conversation and encouragement towards each other. I even questioned a conversion of faith into Christ if it was legitimate or a possible falling away from the faith could be occurring. Never to less, looking for godly wisdom and prayers.

Thank you for this ministry as it blesses our family weekly.
