The Empty Tomb

What You’ll Learn:

What is the greatest evidence of the resurrection of Jesus? The emphasis in the New Testament is the empty tomb. In the Gospels, the news of the resurrection began with the female followers of Jesus arriving at an empty tomb. The body of Jesus was no longer there. He was alive. It took some time for His followers to understand what had happened, but the empty tomb remained as a clear visual symbol that Jesus had defeated death. As the psalmist wrote, God would not let His body see decay. When we think of the empty tomb, we remember Jesus died, was buried, yet arose victorious. Death could not defeat Him. He conquered death to give you life today.
