What You’ll Learn:
Were the four gospels eyewitness accounts? Professor and attorney, Dr. John Warwick Montgomery shared in a television interview, “The first gospel was written by ah, Matthew Levi, a tax collector ah, who became an apostle, a disciple of Jesus, ah, and who wrote on the basis of his own observation of what Jesus said and did. Ah, the fourth gospel was written by John, who was the youngest of the disciples and lived the longest.” The gospel of Mark and the gospel of Luke were written by companions of the apostles, Peter and Paul. The evidence is clear; the gospels are written accounts of those who were either eyewitnesses of Jesus’ life and resurrection or those who had contact with the eyewitnesses.
