Why Is Prophecy Important?

What You’ll Learn:

Why is biblical prophecy important? Approximately one-fourth of the Bible was originally prophetic in nature. In 1 Thessalonians 4:13, Paul shared about the future, saying, “But we do not want you to be uninformed, brothers, about those who are asleep, that you may not grieve as others do who have no hope.” Prophecy equips us to know God’s plan for the future. When we understand God’s unfolding story of redemption, we can better serve to share His love with others. As we do, those around us are changed, preparing even more people for our future home in eternity with the Lord. We can conclude with the apostle Paul, that we can “encourage one another with these words.”
