In the Introduction to her book Jesus In Me, Anne Graham Lotz says,
“What I have needed is … Someone who would come alongside me and share every step of my journey, day in and day out. Someone in whom I could confide. Someone with whom I could discuss issues that are on my mind. Someone who would answer my questions. Help me with decisions. Listen to my complaints, my fears, my worries, my dreams. Someone I could trust. Believe. Enjoy. Someone whose very presence would bring joy. And peace. And hope. Someone who would know me. Who would understand me. Someone who would love me!”
Called “the best preacher in the family” by her late father, Billy Graham, Anne is an international speaker, and a bestselling author. We were privileged to have her in our studios to tape a series we have entitled, “Relying on the Constant Companionship of the Holy Spirit.” In this series she explains why Jesus taught every Christian they need to rely on the constant companionship of the Holy Spirit. When Anne lost her husband of 49 years, she felt both shock and intense grief. Then, just a few years later her beloved father Billy Graham passed away. Then six months after his funeral, Anne was diagnosed with breast cancer. Yet through it all, she relied on the constant companionship of the Holy Spirit to help her.
In Program 1 she will help you to understand who the Holy Spirit is, and why He is important for your life.
Program 2 explains why the Holy Spirit is not an “optional extra,” but rather an essential member of the Trinity.
In Program 3 Anne explains what it means that the Holy Spirit is present with you, and what difference His presence should make in the way you live.
In Program 4 Anne addresses the difficult topic of being hurt by other Christians. How should you respond when it seems even the church is against you?
The remaining programs, which we will discuss in more detail next month, answer the question, “How would your life be different if you allowed the Holy Spirit to have full access to your life?”
All 7 programs in this series, “Relying on The Constant Companionship of The Holy Spirit,” are available on 2 DVDs for a gift of $88. In addition, we are making available Anne’s book entitled “Jesus in Me, Experiencing the Holy Spirit as a Constant Companion.” You may request this 300-page book for a gift of $15. You may request these items, that is, two DVDs plus the book, together in a package for $100.
Coming Soon
Coming up after our programs with Anne Graham Lotz, we will air a series with Dr. Stephen C. Meyer entitled “Does the New Scientific Evidence about the Origin of the Life Put an End to Darwinian Evolution?” These programs explain why the possibility of one human cell coming into existence by natural selection is impossible and how scientists are being forced to consider that the intricate design in the cell points to an Intelligent Designer. You’ll want to invite any high school and college students you know to watch this series.

Audio Bibles
We cannot thank you enough for the way you have responded to the desperate need to get God’s audible Word to people around the world. Just read these testimonies from people who have benefited from your generosity:
“I understand the Bible more by listening. You can’t say that I cannot read. But I cannot see very well anymore. Many of us do not read the Bible much. We all understand more by listening to the audio player.”
“I’ve been living in this refugee camp for nine years. There is no pastor or minister in the camp, so the Audio Bible is very beneficial for us. We listen to it as a sermon on Sunday. About 40 or 50 of us listen together.”
“I keep the Proclaimer under my pillow and listen to it every night before bed. I have more faith by listening to the Word of God. I don’t know how to write, but I understand the Bible well—I feel like someone is speaking God’s Word to me when I listen to the audio player. I am very thankful for it.”
May I ask you to continue to pray for those who will receive and listen to God’s Word around the world? God’s Holy Spirit is at work opening hearts to hear and respond to the gospel. Because of your support, as of last count, more than 7.7 million people are now in listening groups, learning and growing as disciples of Jesus Christ!
But there is an ongoing need. Right now, estimates are that more than 1.5 billion people still have never heard of Jesus! Romans 10:14 reminds us that they need to hear to believe, and in order for them to hear, someone has to tell them. Audio Bibles have proven to be an effective way for people to hear, believe, and receive the gospel message. Would you pray about how you can help? See the enclosed card to make your gift to provide Audio Bibles for those who are still waiting to hear.
“You Will Receive Power”
In Acts 1:8 Jesus told His disciples, “You will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”
Over the past nine years or so we have been asking you to help us send the gospel to “Judea, Samaria, and the ends of the earth” through Audio Bibles, and you have responded very generously. Thank you!
But what about “Jerusalem”—your own hometown? What are you doing to share the gospel with your own family, friends, and neighbors? May I challenge you over the next month to pray for someone you know who does not know Christ as his or her savior? Will you pray about sharing your own salvation story with that individual? Ask the Holy Spirit to give you power to be a witness for Him.
Once again, we thank you for your prayers and your financial support of The John Ankerberg Show. We could not do ministry without you!
For those who are waiting to hear (both overseas and in your own hometown),
John and Darlene
