WHAT IS A LEGACY GIFT?

A legacy gift is a planned future gift that designates some part of an individual's estate as a donation to a nonprofit, i.e., ministry. Legacy gifts enable individuals to create a powerful eternal legacy by making a direct impact on the mission's efforts that are important to them. Your gifts will support our mission for generations. While you may not see all that God has in store, you can create a legacy of impacting lives with the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

WHAT ARE THE WAYS YOU CAN GIVE?

Legacy gifts are given in multiple ways, explore the options below.

When you leave the balance of an IRA or 401(k) to your heirs, they must carefully manage the account to avoid losing its tax-deferred status and potentially triggering large income taxes and possible penalties. You can simplify this by directing all or a portion of what remains in your retirement accounts to the John Ankerberg Show and leaving other assets to your heirs that are not subject to income taxes.

You may also make the John Ankerberg Show the beneficiary of a life insurance policy without changing your will. If your financial and family situation has changed over the years, you may have life insurance policies that are no longer needed for their original purpose, such as the payment of estate taxes that may no longer be due. Ask your insurance representative for a "change of beneficiary form" and return the completed form to them to confirm the exchange.

A gift annuity is one option that can provide an income for you and a loved one while eventually funding a charitable gift to the John Ankerberg Show. In addition to immediate tax benefits, you or someone you choose will receive fixed payments for life. This can be a way to provide for retirement income or support parents. Please contact your attorney or financial advisor for more information regarding gift annuities with no obligation.

You may include a specific amount or a percentage of what remains after other distributions have been completed. You may be able to add a charitable gift through a simple amendment to your current will or living trust (called a codicil).

A GIFT THAT GOES BEYOND YOU

Our great God truly works in wondrous ways. He even uses us on this earth after we have gone on to be with Him. Let me give you an example.

For years, I had the privilege to speak with one particular supporter of The John Ankerberg Show several times per year. I would call and this lady would answer her phone as if she had been waiting on my call. We shared great times together as we talked about what God was doing in her life as well as what all was happening here at the ministry.

Then one day I got a phone call from her attorney. She had gone on to be with the Lord. He wanted me to know that she had included our ministry in her will. (We never knew that she had done this.) We were one of fourteen ministries she had designated in her will. With her donation, we built our present studio and additional office space! PRAISE THE LORD!

Since then her gift has impacted 206 countries and territories, millions of people, many language groups, not to mention Dr. Ankerberg and the entire staff. (For years, it was my job to rent facilities in which we could tape our programs. It was extremely difficult to arrange Dr. Ankerberg's schedule, all the various guests' schedules, and find a facility available. Now, we have much greater flexibility to get this work done.)

HOW TO INCLUDE THE JOHN ANKERBERG SHOW IN YOUR WILL OR LIVING TRUST

To include the John Ankerberg Show in your will or living trust, the following wording is suggested for use with your documents. Please consult your attorney or contact us regarding additional details:

"After fulfilling other provisions, I give, devise and bequeath _____ % of my estate (or $_____ if a specific amount or the rest, residue and remainder of my estate) to the John Ankerberg Show (Federal tax ID number: 621138444), currently having an address at P.O. Box 8977, Chattanooga, TN 37414, to be used for such purposes as its Board of Directors determines at the time this bequest becomes effective."
