Are there different degrees of sin? The Bible declares all have sinned and fall short of God’s glory. In God’s eyes, there are not different levels of sin, but only sin or forgiveness of sin. Yet some sins do have greater consequences than others. The good news is that God offers forgiveness of all sins. 1 John 1:9 promises, “If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Regardless of whether our sins are big or small, we need and can receive forgiveness from God. Let’s trust in His mercy to provide freedom from sin today.
