Did Jesus ever claim to be God? Some skeptics argue Jesus never claimed to be God in the Bible. But nothing could be further from the truth. First, Jesus said He existed before Abraham in John 8:58, saying, “before Abraham was even born, I am!” Second, He claimed to forgive sins, something only God could do. In Matthew 9, told a paralyzed man his sins were forgiven. Plus, Jesus said He could give eternal life in John 10:27-28/ Only God could claim to be alive in the time of Jesus and live before Abraham. Only God can forgive sins and give eternal life. Jesus clearly claimed to be God, ultimately proving it by His resurrection.
