Is Bible prophecy important? Many churches avoid the topic completely, claiming it’s too complicated or controversial. But did you know that approximately 27 percent of the Bible contains prophetic material? That’s more than one out of every four verses. God actually says prophecy is proof that He exists. In John 13:19 Jesus said, “I am telling you now before it happens, so that when it does happen, you will believe that I am he,” meaning God. Prophecy shows God exists, that Jesus is divine, helps us reach unbelievers, and comforts those who are believers. Prophecy is very important to God, and should be to us as well. Let’s remember that all Scripture is God-breathed and useful for instruction.
