Live Expecting Christ’s Return

What You’ll Learn

Does God want us to live each day expecting Jesus could come at any moment? Well in a recent television interview with theologian Dr. Renald Showers he explained how the Thessalonian Christians were continuously waiting for Jesus to return. “In that verse 2 in 1 Thessalonians it’s a Greek present tense which means continuously, that the Thessalonian Christians believed that Christ could come at any moment so they were continuously ah, waiting, continuously waiting for Him to come.” This is why we say Jesus’ return at the rapture is an imminent event. It could happen at any moment. And in light of this 1 Thessalonians 4:18 says, “Encourage one another with these words.”
