Why Does God Allow Natural Disasters?

Recent natural disasters, such as hurricanes, floods, or tornadoes have devastated many across our nation. If God is good, why does He allow these disasters?First, we must realize we live in an imperfect, fallen world where certain disasters naturally occur. Second, God sometimes allows tragedy to strike to draw people to God. When bad things occur, people tend to look for spiritual answers. Third, God sometimes has a larger plan than we can understand. For example, there have been many stories of people who have come to faith in Jesus after enduring a disaster. We don’t need to question God’s goodness when disaster strikes; we are to turn to Him for help when it does.
